Vegetable Grower & Shop Support 🌱

Permanent Role | Immediate Start | Ardross Farm Shop, Elie, Fife

At Ardross Farm Shop, we grow vegetables across 15 acres for our busy, award-winning farm shop — often picked and on the shelves within hours.

We are looking for someone practical, reliable and hard-working to join our veg team — someone who takes real pride in doing a job properly and is looking to build a long-term role within a supportive team.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, physical role at the heart of our farm shop.

A key part of the job — every single day — is ensuring our vegetable section is fully stocked, fresh and looking its best throughout opening hours.

This involves harvesting crops, restocking regularly, maintaining quality, and staying on top of things as the shop gets busy. It’s a fast-paced environment where there is always something to do.

Alongside this, you will support the growing of a wide range of vegetables, working across the full process from seed to harvest.

Key Responsibilities

  • Harvesting vegetables daily for the farm shop
  • Keeping shelves topped up, tidy and looking abundant from open to close
  • Maintaining high standards of quality and presentation
  • Supporting the growing of a wide range of vegetables across the season
  • General crop work including sowing, planting and husbandry
  • Working closely with the shop and wider farm team
  • Supporting stock control and reducing waste

Who We’re Looking For

  • Someone who enjoys practical, physical work and being on their feet
  • A proactive individual who notices what needs doing and takes initiative
  • Someone who takes pride in high standards and presentation
  • Reliable, consistent and able to work as part of a team
  • Keen to learn and develop new skills

Experience in vegetable growing or food production is beneficial, but not essential — we are happy to train the right person with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.

The Details

  • Permanent position
  • Immediate start available
  • Hours: 7:30am – 5:30pm
  • Days: Flexible, agreed in advance (rota includes weekdays and weekends)
  • Location: Ardross Farm Shop, Elie, Fife

Pay & Benefits

  • £12.75 per hour (equivalent to ~£31,500 full-time)
  • Staff discount in the shop
  • Pension scheme
  • Supportive, down-to-earth team environment
  • Opportunities for training and development
  • Onsite parking

Why Join Us?

This is a role where you can see the results of your work every day — from the field to the shop shelf within hours.

You’ll be part of a team that cares about quality, presentation and producing great food for our customers.

A Note on the Role

This position is best suited to someone looking to settle into a long-term role, rather than short-term or seasonal work.
