I am the eldest of three daughters working in the business and have been managing the shop since 2016. I love food, speaking to people and the environment. I also spend a lot of time in the kitchen at home cooking and baking with my two little boys, so this is my perfect job.

Landward

Dougie Vipond with Claire Sloan and Nikki Storrar holding baskets of vegetables

This is why we love working in our farm shop, no two days are the same! This week was the perfect example of that as Landward visits Ardross.

One minute Nikki was moaning that she hates processing inoices, the next the phone rings and Landward are asking to come and film. We were absolutely thrilled. Despite the misty, cold East Neuk weather, we had such a brilliant day filming and sharing a little of what life is like at Ardross. There were plenty of laughs, great conversation, and a few breaks to thaw out cold fingers”

The Landward team were an absolute job to work with. So friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in what we do here, from the crops growing in the fields to the food on our farm shelves. Claire wandered in among the cattle with Dougie talking about our Pasture for Life cattle then headed out to the veg field to cut some chard. Meanwhile Nikki was filmed with Dougie putting the fresh veg into the shop.

It was a real privilege to shar our story and show what goes into producing good food on a family farm. Everything we do here is about care, sustainability and a love of local food – and we’re so proud to represent Fife farming in this way.

We can’t wait to see the finished programme when it airs on:

Thursday 23rd Oct at 8.30pm on BBC Scotland
Friday 24th Oct at 7.30pm on BBC 1
Sunday 26th Oct at 9.30am on BBC 2 across the UK.

It will also be on iplayer from Thursday evening:  BBC Scotland – Landward, 2025, Episode 19

Pumpkins This time of year is synonymous with pumpkins now. They come in all shapes, sizes and colours and seem to be in every shop we visit. Here at Ardross we grown quite a few varieties from seed and they are one of our favourite
