I am the eldest of three daughters working in the business and have been managing the shop since 2016. I love food, speaking to people and the environment. I also spend a lot of time in the kitchen at home cooking and baking with my two little boys, so this is my perfect job.

We’re Recruiting: Shop Assistant Wanted at Ardross Farm Shop

After nearly ten years with us, Karen is moving on to a new job closer to her home in Inverkeithing. While we’re very sad to see her go, it also means we’re now looking for someone new to join the Ardross Farm Shop team.

This is a proper farm shop job — friendly, busy, physical, and never dull. No two days are the same, and everyone plays their part in keeping the shop running smoothly.

You’ll be front of house, chatting to customers and serving them with a smile. You’ll also be restocking shelves, building displays, handling deliveries, keeping the shop looking beautiful, and generally being part of the engine that keeps Ardross ticking along.

We’re a small, hardworking team, so this role suits someone who enjoys being busy, takes pride in doing things well, and doesn’t mind being on their feet all day. If you like people, food, and variety — you’ll fit right in.

What the job involves

  • Serving customers and providing great, friendly service

  • Re-stocking and merchandising produce, meat and shelves

  • Keeping the shop clean, tidy and well presented

  • Handling deliveries and moving stock (there is a lot of heavy lifting involved)

  • Working as part of a supportive, hands-on team

Hours

  • 8.00am – 5.30pm most days

  • Thursdays can be either 8.00am – 2.00pm, 2.00pm – 8.00pm or 8.00am – 5.30pm

  • Number of days per week depends on the right candidate

  • A set number of days each week, with shifts on a rota basis and everyone sharing their fair share of weekends

Full-time or part-time considered.

This role would suit someone energetic, reliable and cheerful, with a good level of physical fitness and a willingness to roll up their sleeves. Farm shop experience isn’t essential — a great attitude and a strong work ethic absolutely are.

If you’d like to be part of a shop full of good food, good people, and very busy days, we’d love to hear from you.
