Our Whole & Half Lamb Boxes – grass-fed lamb, cut just the way you like it

One of the things we’re most proud of at Ardross is that every piece of beef, lamb and mutton you buy from our farm shop comes from animals that we have reared ourselves, here on our own fields.

Our lamb boxes are a brilliant way to enjoy our grass-fed lamb at its very best – sustainably, economically and exactly suited to the way you cook and eat at home.

From our fields to your freezer

All of the lamb in our boxes is:

Born, reared and finished entirely here at Ardross
100% grass-fed and Pasture for Life certified
Raised slowly, outdoors, as nature intended

Being Pasture for Life assured is at the heart of how we farm. Our sheep graze diverse pastures full of grasses, herbs and wildflowers, and are never fed cereals or imported soya. They spend all of their lives outside, moving through our fields as part of our rotational grazing system, which helps build healthy soils and lock carbon back into the ground.

For us, good farming and good food go hand in hand.

And for you, it means lamb that is naturally flavourful, tender and packed with goodness – including higher levels of beneficial omega-3 fats than grain-fed meat.

What is a lamb box?

A lamb box is exactly what it sounds like – a whole or half lamb, butchered into a selection of joints, chops, mince, diced lamb and bones, giving you a freezer full of beautiful meat to cook with over the weeks and months ahead.

We offer:

It works out good value, and it’s one of the best ways to eat nose-to-tail and reduce waste.

Cut to suit the way you live

One of the things our customers love most about our lamb boxes is that they are completely cut to order.

Once you’ve placed your order, we’ll be in touch to ask how you’d like it butchered.

You can be as specific as you like – more mince, more chops, smaller roasts, bones for stock – or you can simply tell us a bit about how you live and cook:

  • Are you feeding a family?

  • Cooking for one or two?

  • Short on time and want quick midweek meals?

  • Love slow cooking and big Sunday roasts?

Our butchers will prepare your lamb to suit you perfectly. Everything is vacuum packed, clearly labelled and ready for the freezer.

When are lamb boxes available?

We offer lamb boxes from autumn through to early summer, when our lamb is at its very best.

We usually need around a week’s notice, unless we’re exceptionally busy.

You can:

  • Collect from the farm shop any day during the week

  • Or choose UK-wide next-day delivery, with courier collections on Wednesdays for delivery on Thursdays

Why choose an Ardross lamb box?

When you buy a lamb box from us, you’re not just buying meat – you’re buying into a way of farming and food that really matters.

  • High animal welfare, with sheep raised slowly and naturally

  • Fully traceable – you know exactly where your food comes from

  • Sustainable, grass-based farming that supports healthy soils and the climate

  • Exceptional flavour and quality

  • Better value than buying cut by cut

And perhaps most importantly, you’re supporting a family farm that has been farming here in Fife for generations.

How to order

You can order your whole or half lamb box:

  • In the farm shop

  • Over the phone

  • Or through our website here

If you’re not sure which size would suit you, or you’d like to talk through cuts and freezer space, we’re always very happy to help.

A freezer full of grass-fed Ardross lamb is one of life’s quiet pleasures – and once you’ve tried it, it’s hard to go back.
