Traditional Farming -why not organic?

Rob is proud of being a traditional Scottish farmer and believes that the Ardross philosophy is more beneficial to the environment and wildlife than many organic products. After all what is environmentally friendly about buying broccoli from Poland which use more than their weight in fuel to be delivered to your supermarket?

Ardross is traditionally farmed, using crop rotation to nourish the soil and keep pests down, keeping cows in pasture meadows or feeding them farm grown feed which is guaranteed GM free.

Wildlife

Hedgerows are repaired for nesting, stubble is left over winter to provide cover for birds and animals and nesting boxes have been put up for owls. We have Barn Owls, Corn Buntings, Deer and Badgers and our Lapwing and partridge numbers increase every year due to our stewardship.
