Chilli Lovers

We have some great new products for all the chilli lovers out there.
Capsicana is supplying us with the best dried chillies we can find. We are starting with four different varieties however if you have a request please just let us know.
Chipotle – These Chipotle Meco – the most sought after Chipotle variety of them all – are cold smoked Jalapenos, a practice that pre-dates the Aztec empire and was used to preserve surplus chillies after harvest. They have a wonderful, deep smokey aroma and flavour. Use in saladas, marinades and chilli con carne.
Guajillo – These are dried Mirasol chillies, grown predominantly in northern and central Mexico and are one of the country’s most cultivated varieties of chilli. They have a tea like flavour with sweetness and a peppery finish. Great for soups, stews, salsas and sauces and their flavour goes really well with pork or chicken.
Piquin – The Piquin chilli is fiery and flavoursome and can be found growing wild in the highlands of Mexico. The indigenous Tarahumara Indians of northern Mexico believe them to be the greatest protection against evil and eye with suspicion anyone who will not eat them! They have a rich, sweet and smokey taste. They are traditionally crushed and used in soups, stews and bean dishes.
Bhut Jolokia – Comes from north-eastern India and is used daily by the people of Assam. It is the hottest naturally occurring chilli in the world and is rated at over 1,000,000 Scovilles! They are pungeant, with tones of tropical fruit. Add to your favourite curries for extra heat and flavour.
