Ardross Farm New Season Vegetables

This is one of our favourite times of year, as we wave goodbye to the asparagus and the old winter veg from earlier in the year we are now steaming into a fantastic crop of new fresh vegetables.

Ardross Farm New Season Vegetables - Picture of VegetablesYesterday we started our new season carrots, tiny and sweet these carrots are just fantastic, forget peeling, give them a scrub and eat them raw! We are also lucky to have the first broccoli in Scotland to be cut this year from the Brown’s at Grangemuir, Pittenweem. Picked fresh every morning you won’t find better broccoli anywhere. Also available are new season strawberries from Grangemuir, our delicious living Pinocchio and red oak leaf lettuce, spring greens, mouth watering green jumbo elephant garlic and normal garlic from the Isle of Wight, not to mention the new season cauliflower.

Perhaps the most exciting are the new potatoes that will be starting Thursday 11th June. Swift, epicure and Sharpes Express potatoes will be arriving in the shop to replace the Maris Pipers from last year. These are all old tasty varieties which are sure to find a place in your heart!
