News from the shop.....

Opening Hours: We are now into our summer hours and so we are open 7 days a week.

Strawberries: We are selling strawberries from Sally and Ian Brown at Grangemuir Farm near Pittenweem at the moment and they are fantasic, just what strawberries should taste like. Picked fresh every morning they are dropped off to us everyday and we can hardly keep them on the shelves.

UKTV Food: We are delighted to have been nominated once again for the UKTV Local Food Hero Awards. Thank you to everyone so far who has voted for us and apologies for the people who tried but couldn't. Steak Pies: We are very proud to announce that we now have our very own traditional steak pies and they are going very well. Made from our own beef our new pies come in 2lb, 1lb and 1/2lb sizes with a puff pastry lid. It's taken us a long time to find ones up to standard but I think we have finally found them.

Puddledub Pork: After a lot of people asking we have managed to get joints of pork from the very well know Puddledub Pork. We are starting with legs and rolled shoulders for roasting and gammon joints but if anyone would like anything else please let us know!

COOK: We are very excited about our newest venture, we have linked up with COOK, a groundbreaking food company to offer customers a delicious range of frozen food prepared for people who love homemade meals but don't always have time to cook. COOK is a family run business that makes its meals using the same cooking techniques and ingredients that a good cook would use at home. This means no shortcuts, no big machines and no artificial ingredients. We have a selection of over 30 meals ranging from Liver, Bacon & Onions and Green Thai Chicken, to Fisherman's Pie and Roasted Vegetable Lasagne.

News from the farm...

Its a strange year now we aren't growing vegetables for the supermarkets, there should be a lot more free time however it doesn't look like its going to be that way. The vegetables for the shop are growing very fast with all the rain and sunshine. The new potatoes have started along with the hispi cabbages, pinocchio lettuce, red oak leaf lettuce, cauliflower, broccoli and we will be cutting the curly kale starting tomorrow. The rest of the veg doesn't look far away at all either, the romanesco cauliflower, beetroot and other types of cabbage will be in the shop in the not to distant future.

The cows are all well, we have planted a lot of fields with clover and they are really enjoying that. We were thrilled to find a patch full of four leaved clovers as well! The beans that we grow for winter are looking very good.

We also now have our very own bee hives and so Ardross honey should be on the shelves shortly.
